Jeremy Corbyn has led the Labour Party to its worst electoral defeat since 1935. Labour has been totally wiped out in its working-class heartlands, with voters citing Jeremy Corbyn's leadership as the primary reason they could not vote Labour. Labour's share of the vote went down in 98% of the UK's Parliamentary seats, yet he refuses to accept any responsibility or even apologise.
Corbyn's promise to "step down before the next election" is simply not good enough. Labour has a mountain to climb before the next General Election and we need to show we're making progress by the local elections in May 2020.
For the good of the party and the country, Corbyn must resign with immediate effect and begin the process of electing a new leader.
"We the undersigned call on Jeremy Corbyn to resign as Leader of the Labour Party with immediate effect."
