Along with various Socialist Societies, Britain's Trade Unions played a leading role in the founding of the Labour Party, and have played a huge role in its internal politics ever since. Join us and Michael Wheeler from Usdaw as we explore the history of Labour's trade union link and how it works today.

Michael is Usdaw’s Political Officer and a councillor in the North West. He has campaigned for Labour since he was tall enough to reach a letterbox. He is passionate about the importance of the trade union link and how the direct connection with working people sets the Labour Party apart from all other parties.
