Over the last five years, Marxism and Marxist-Leninist ideas have taken an increasingly prominent role on the British Left, with a self described "Marxist Shadow Chancellor" and an increasing number of self-identified Marxist-Leninists finding their political home in the Labour Party. But is Leninism at all compatible with social democracy? And should it be at home in Britain's mainstream centre-left political party? Leading this talk will be Professor Colin Talbot, currently Professor Emeritus at Manchester University and a Research Associate at the University of Cambridge.
